About EPFO Managed SMS Platform

  • BSNL along with its technology partner Virtuosos Solutions Pvt Ltd, have implementead a SMS based platform for EPFO since July 2010 and is also managing the same. 120 EPFO offices are connected to this central platform located at EPFO Data center at Delhi.

  • The relevant data from these offices reaches the platform on daily basis. The SMS platform processes these files and generates SMS alerts for claim receipts, rejection/approval, payments, PF balance etc.

  • Till 17 Mar '2018 <37.16 Crore> SMSs have been sent from this system. More than 80,000 SMS are now being sent daily from the platform and more than 1 crore records are processed everyday.

  • As a part of the system, the relevant web reports/ dashboards have also been provided by BSNL showing office wise data uploading status, new claim cases, approvals, rejections, cases with mobile numbers, SMS sent etc.

  • The system is very useful for EPFO to monitor the functioning of the regional/ sub-regional EPFO offices and improving the system efficiency. The Know Your Member Balance Service is also a service provided by the platform.
